Lazy S Ranch
J

The Lazy JS Ranch (home of 26 Bar Land and Cattle in 2024) has been producing functional Polled Herefords since 1944. In 2025, Jason and Tressa purchased our first Angus bulls to take advantage of hybrid vigor and get those F1 crosses that everyone is after. With the maternal milk our cows have; these Angus influenced calves should be high weaning and go on to be great cows.
We maintain a cowherd of 70 head of Vescovi and Tradition influenced bloodlines. We strive to produce structurally sound, efficient cattle with length and thickness, strong maternal traits, and good dispositions. Our current cow herd goes back to sons of SHF Rib Eye M326 R117, LJSR Moses Mark 709T, and SR Scope 179G. We breed our best cows to a Polled Hereford bull to get replacements for ourselves, to keep for butchering, and for Suttyn's show stock.

We start calving the mid April and wean calves the beginning of November. We don't push our calves with feed. They are given a ration of long hay, grain, and trace mineral once weaned.
